KING COUNTY METRO PARK & RIDE FACILITIES

NGJ was selected by the King County Department of Transportation to study and publish Structured Parking Guidelines for Park & Ride Facilities.

 

 A Compilation Structured Parking Guidelines for Park and Ride Facilities Report, dated January 1999 for King County Department of Transportation “Metro” Transit Division.   This report was performed concurrent with meetings and reviews with a KCDOT staff cross functional team.  The conclusion of this Study is to be used in planning, design and implementation of Structured Parking owned and/or operated by King County Metro.   This report includes:

Discussion of the Issues which includes: functional design, geometrics, vehicle flow & capacity, ramping systems, pedestrian construction methods, art, zoning and code issues, design commentary, outside issues, potential uses fees and shared parking. 

 

Other sections include procurement methods, generic budget cost estimates, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) influences, and maintenance and operating costs.

 

In addition, conceptual designs for park and ride structures & budget estimates were performed for the proposed Northgate and Eastgate Transit Centers.
